I know Nikon fans (I am one of them) like to downplay high ISO noise when comparing bodies from Nikon and Canon. But I looked at the 2 images from the 40D linked in this article, and compared them to the ISO 1000 from the 300D. 

The Canon images win hands down. They are more or less noise free, while the ISO 1000 image from the D300 is quite noisy. 

Was planning to buy the D300 as a big step up from my old D70, but now I&#039;m really starting to think about switching...
